Drew’s Story

Drew Mixing on SD10

When I recognized that worship is a posture of my entire life, everything changed…

I started my journey by serving as a youth worship leader and participating on the church tech team. I was eight years old when I first stood behind the audio console to fly solo. I began serving on the tech team in any spot I could jump into. By the time I was in middle school, I was mixing bands in our middle and high school auditorium. I joined the worship team and participated as a guitarist too. If there was music being played at church, I was probably participating in some capacity. By the time I reached my junior year of high school, I helped initiate the student tech team at our church.

I studied Music and Worship: Business at Liberty University before joining the production team as a full-time staff member. I eventually took on the role of Production Lead where I learned production management skills and developed a passion for training people in the worship production arts. As the digital world continued to grow, I began pursuing a master’s degree in Strategic Communications and completed that degree in 2022.

When I recognized that worship is a posture of my entire life, everything changed about how I approached life. Worship is more than a song or style of music- worship is the opportunity to willingly give everything I have to the one who sacrificially gave everything He had on the cross. This meant my calling as a worship leader went beyond the stage or tech booth and extended into my home with my family.

God has inspired me to serve local churches in the production and worship arts. Too often, worship pastors and church production leaders stress out over finding volunteers to support Sunday services, or they pull their hair out trying to map out their Dante network switch. Many of our local church staff and volunteers are hurting, missing out on relationships, and missing out on Jesus. Its time to find purpose driven production.
